Marine City is a modern district located in U-dong, Haeundae-gu, Busan, known for its impressive architecture and waterfront. The area has numerous restaurants, cafes, and bars lining the streets, catering to a diverse crowd from families to young adults. The blend of contemporary living and scenic beauty gives it a unique charm that many find appealing.
Is it worth the trip?
Absolutely. If you enjoy stunning nightscapes, Marine City won’t disappoint. The city lights reflect beautifully off the water, providing ample opportunities for memorable photos. I found myself captivated by the atmosphere as I strolled along the marina, taking in both locals and tourists enjoying their evening.
While many flock here for dinner or drinks, it’s also an excellent spot for a leisurely walk any time of day. And if you need a break from the busy beaches nearby, this area offers a refreshing change of pace without an entrance fee—it’s completely free to explore.
How to plan your visit
Getting to Marine City is straightforward. If you’re using public transportation, take Line 2 of the Busan Subway and disembark at Haeundae Station. From there, it’s about a 15-minute walk to reach the area. Alternatively, if you’re driving, ample free parking is available.
I was not expecting this, but the best part? Marine City is open 24 hours a day all year round. This allows for flexible planning; whether you want to catch sunrise or enjoy late-night snacks after exploring nearby attractions like Haeundae Beach or Dongbaek Island.
