At a Glance: Hillhouse Hotel offers comfortable accommodation near key attractions in Seoul, making it an ideal base for exploring the city.
Located at the foot of Namsan Mountain, Hillhouse Hotel (힐하우스 호텔) provides a strategic base for travelers wanting to explore downtown Seoul. With check-in starting at 15:00 and check-out by 12:00, it fits well into most travel itineraries. The hotel features 40 rooms, ensuring a cozy atmosphere without feeling overwhelming.
What are the rooms like at Hillhouse Hotel / 힐하우스 호텔?
The rooms at Hillhouse Hotel are straightforward yet comfortable, designed primarily for business travelers and tourists alike. Each room is equipped with free internet access, which I found convenient for planning daily activities. However, in-room cooking is not available, so dining options outside the hotel are essential.
How convenient is the location?
This hotel is quite conveniently situated within walking distance of notable attractions such as Namsan Park, N Seoul Tower, and Namdaemun Market. If you’re arriving via public transport, both Hoehyeon and Myeongdong subway stations are just a short stroll away. I remember taking about 10 minutes to reach Myeongdong station on foot; it was an easy walk even after a long day of sightseeing.
The proximity to Seoul Station also makes traveling to other cities or the airport simple. It’s roughly a 20-minute walk or a quick taxi ride away. Just a heads up though: if you have lots of luggage or heavy bags, consider taking a taxi instead of walking.
What amenities does Hillhouse Hotel / 힐하우스 호텔 offer?
Apart from its clean and functional rooms, Hillhouse Hotel offers some practical amenities like free luggage storage service for guests. This was particularly helpful for us when we arrived early before check-in; we could explore without dragging our bags around. On the first floor, there’s also a shared microwave, which can be handy for reheating takeout meals.
Unfortunately, there’s no on-site dining available, so you’ll need to venture out for meals. The good news is that numerous eateries are within walking distance. While it’s not a major downside, having some snacks or drinks available in the lobby would have been nice.
Is Hillhouse Hotel / 힐하우스 호텔 good value for the price?
Considering its location and amenities, I’d say Hillhouse Hotel offers decent value for money. Prices fluctuate based on seasonality but generally hover around ₩100,000 (about $74 USD) per night—quite reasonable given its prime spot in Seoul.
You might find cheaper options elsewhere; however, they often come with trade-offs in terms of cleanliness or location. In my experience, staying here made exploring so much easier without compromising comfort.
