상세설명-Summary
1968년 ‘1.21사태(북한의 청와대 습격 시도사건)’ 때 김신조 등 북한 공작원 31명이 청와대를 습격할 때 이용한 뒤 폐쇄된 길로 일명 북악산 `김신조 루트’로 불리며 41년간 군사통제구역이었다. 그동안 ‘걸을 수 없는길’로 봉인됐던 이 길에 걷기 편한 산책로가 만들어지고 북악산 일대가 2010년 2월 27일, 41년 만에 개방되었다.
이곳은 40여 년간 사람들의 발길이 닫지 않아 생태적 가치가 높고 자연경관이 우수해 일명 ‘서울 속의 비무장지 (DMZ)’라고 불릴 정도로 천혜의 자연이 그대로 살아 숨쉬고 있다. 북악스카이웨이 산책로는 ‘하늘길(Sky way)’이라는 이름에 걸맞게 산 허리를 시원하게 감고 돌고 있어 서울 시내와 북한산, 북악산, 인왕산을 바라보며 걸을 수 있다.
[북악하늘길 2산책로]는 하늘교에서 성북천발원지까지로 1,950m에 이른다.하늘교는 북악하늘길 2산책로와 하늘길을 잇는 다리로 북악산과 북한산 사이를 지나는 도로 때문에 끊겨 있었던 북악산과 북한산을 연결하게 되었다. 하늘교는 서울성곽의 모습을 내기 위해 표면에 화강암을 붙였고 북한산과 북악산의 정기를 이어주기 위해 다리 위를 흙으로 깔았다.
